Then you spend the rest of the chapter looking for ways bring out a Padawaan and get her to turn on her master.

If the player is a Sith Warrior , Quinn will either approach them if player sided with the Empire or surrender himself to the Alliance to gain an audience if the player sided with the Republic. The player has the option to either welcome Quinn back to his side, leave him imprisoned by the Alliance if sided with the Republic, or punish Quinn for most recent and past betrayals by killing him.

Intelligent, distinguished and competent, Malavai Quinn is the epitome of professionalism within the Imperial military. A career soldier, Quinn has always held the Sith ideals of order and stability in high regards, and views the Republic as a chaotic and unstable threat.
Quinn prides himself on absolute precision in carrying out his orders, and is quick to thrust blame on himself for even the most minor error. While others who have accomplished less than him have ascended to the rank of Admiral, Quinn remains a lowly Lieutenant who continues to serve the greater good of the Empire.
Malavai Quinn is the second companion for the Sith Warrior. He is the primary contact throughout the Sith Warrior story line mission on Balmorra.
Once the quest is completed he gains promotion to the rank of Captain and is granted the opportunity to request his next duty assignment.
He, of course, decides to join the player as you leave the planet for your next part of the story line. Quinn is a very much a by-the-book officer as he never questions orders, tactical genius, and supports actions that favor the Empire; conversely, actions that harm Imperial citizens cause disapproval.
