How long do hyundai sonatas last

And as long as you take regular care of your Sonata, it should last significantly longer than , miles before its engine begins to break down. There are many easy ways to care for your car that can extend its life. Transmission, brake, and power-steering fluids, along with radiator coolant, should be changed consistently. Check your manual for guidance on how frequently they should be changed. You should also rotate your tires and check their pressure and condition regularly.

Worn tires can increase your risk of accidents. And accidents can be costly. Pedal it right runs great. Gigi answered 3 years ago. C answered 3 years ago. Purchased in with 40, miles. Daily short commute 20 miles to work and back. I live in Iowa. The winters are brutal from all the salt and sub zero temps. I have stayed on top of the oil changes nearly spot on 5, miles with full synthetic oil. The starter is the only mechanical repair ever.

Brakes twice I did myself. Super easy car to work on and I am no mechanic. I fix everything via YouTube vids. Anyway, reference the brutal north winters. There is nothing on this car that shows any signs of rusting thru.

I have never even had a bulb burn out. The windshield wipers are even the original, which is kinda crazy in Iowa with the scrappy weather. This is just a testament to the quality of parts they use in factory! Updated - Sonata GLS 3. Oil about every 5K to 6K miles. Leaks some oil now. Driveway was oil spot free for first 11 years.

Very slow leak from from valve cover corner nearest to alternator which seems to be a semi common problem in some high mileage posting, but have never fixed it. Known issue with timing chain rattle in first few seconds of startup which I elected not to fix, but was covered under warranty if requested.. Suspension components of a few varieties like ball joint, control arm, stabilizer link, regular brakes, regular tires, and I think 2 wheel bearings.

I live on a gravel road so that should factor in. Overall, I'd buy the same car again. CarissaAnn answered 3 years ago. Elaine answered 2 years ago.

Sonata , 93k miles. New brakes, second battery, starter, power door switch replaced, fuel sensor fixed pricey. Computer is acting up on and off. Glove box latch is broken. I'm not sure I'm happy with keeping a car this long. I have the SE model. SleeperSonata answered 2 years ago. Great potential in these cars. Pushing hp with a more fuel economical tune. Thinking of changing the tune for strictly performance. Got the car in July completely stock with , miles. Since then its , miles.

That's 16, mi in roughly 5 months. All electronics work properly including the factory touchscreen navigation and sunroof motor. The only thing that doesn't work as it should in the car is the USB port, for some reason it won't sync to any device. Don't even need it though, due to the factory Bluetooth.

I have replaced the main fuel pump, for is was leaking a gasoline smell which is resolved. Performs as it should. But keep in mind each specific car is as an individual like a person. Each car will have it's own issues. Also take into consideration the climate of where you live. For my sonata is driven in the harsh winters of WI. I do drive it hard occasionally to surprise performance cars that cost much more at retail price.

Great timeless model, for the sonatas have a great look that still fits in our world today with the new vehicles driving around. Jennifer answered 2 years ago.

I went there with my mom as she was in the market for a car. She didn't buy it, but I did. I'm still driving it, but with some hesitancy on any trips over an hour away.

I just had the alternator changed, and valve cover gaskets. Oil was leaking into the alternator. Now its time to replace the Timing belt, water pump etc I would really like to get another , out of it.

It's time for smog now! Is it going to pass??? If not I will retire it!! I was beginning to have my doubts that I made a good decision. But, after reading all these posts, I feel much more confident about my purchase. Thank you. I hope mine does as well!

I hope to see k. Still runs great. After reading posts here I am not afraid of being that person on I blocking traffic. Drive miles each day to work I currently have k miles on my sonata 2. Hyundai replaced motor, turbo, and starter for free. Recently my check engine light went on but than went off and has not returned.

I have owned it since when I bought it with less than 20, miles on it. I have replaced normal wear items like tires, the battery, alternator, ball joints, but nothing major.

The overall engine, transmission, and powertrain all still work well. I drive mine hard and it still runs very well. I go over mph often in it and have never had any major issues. I do my own oil changes every 4, miles with full synthetic oil. If you keep up on oil changes this car will last a long time! GuruLCS4Y answered 2 years ago. I'm concentrating buying a with , on it and I'm not sure.

First car in a long time and need to be reliable and last for awhile! Is it a good idea? Karzai answered 2 years ago.

Seems like all the cars here are old. I bought a Hyundai Sonata Brand new in September I now have 26, miles 42, kms. Highway miles means you rarely shift transmission, rarely use brake, and cruise at a constant 75 mph kph speed for the duration of the trip on a mile km route. Changed oil every 3, miles 5, kms , never cranked accelerator within a minute after starting, and avoided pot holes as much as possible. Always watched Scotty Kilmer and ChrisFix shows for tips on how to extend the life of the car better.

Always cleaned air filter and maintained correct tire pressure. With the mileage I have been seeing here, I wonder if I could get the same considering that newer cars have more plastic parts in them than do older cars. Daddio answered 2 years ago.
